"Protest against notice to Professor Yogendra Yadav by HRD Ministry."


Reacting to the reports published in the newspapers today about a notice issued to Professor Yogendra Yadav by the HRD ministry to explain why he should not be relieved from the membership of the UGC, since he is continuing in the panel of a political party, hundred students of the Dev Samaj College for Women raised protest against the move. Staging protest Khushpreet, said that, a person’s affiliation with a political party should not be considered as a negative idea for abandoning him from extending his field of expertise for the benefit of the country. How the young generation would perceive the idea of politics by such a move? The move not only draws a negative connotation towards politics but also underlines that autonomous institutions can only work at the mercy of those in the power. Amandeep said that, Yogendra Yadav is a wide acclaimed and renowned academician, researcher known for his significant contribution in the field of education and political research. His removal would certainly demoralize the faith of those who believe in democracy. On the occasion students appealed the HRD Ministry to take back the notice issued to Professor Yadav, in the interest of students of the country and educational institutions. The protest was organized by Critique Ferozepur Chapter, a student’s discussion forum of the college.
