Educational Visit to Amritsar (4 February, 2010)










Philosophical Society arranged an educational visit to Amritsar in which fourty Seven students including their teacher Ambuj Sharma and Parambir Kaur viosited the Historical places at Amritsar. On the way to Amritsar the students visited a small village near Makhu, District Ferozepur where they were received by the parents of one of the student in the group Sharanjot Kaur. Their family informed the group about the village life. Although most of them were from villages but still everybody enjoyed the warm hospitality of the hosts.
Thereafter the students visited the Historical places including the Durgiana Temple, the Golden temple and the perineum of the Late King of Punjab Province, Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
On the request of the students on telephone, Yogesh Snehi, Assistant Professor at the D.A.V. College, Amritsar, joined the group at the perineum of Ranjit Singh and informed the group about the history of the king and the place. He also engaged the students into a critical dialogue about writing history.
